Honeymoon Island

As part of our project Kai and I decided to pick Honeymoon Island. I do not want to go into great detail because I want to keep your minds wondering for when we do our power point. We were lucky enough to be able to meet up with a Park Ranger who was able to show us more than what we would have discovered on our own.

Honeymoon Island is a controlled burn ecosystem, there are many different types of pine trees, cabbage palms, and a small section of canopy. There is sections of Honeymoon Island which are known as to how old the trees located there are, because they were there when the state took over the park. The park has a dog park which is something that has become more of a Bernard due to the contamination from the waste.

Honeymoon Island has a wide verity of birds to be able to see, and has many different types of fish located in the water surrounding the park. Misquotes are very bad in the tail area of the park due to it being the perfect environment for them. It was a great experience to be able to see what it is like to go from one side of the park to the other and see the difference between where humans keep control of invasive species and where controlled burns are used to control invasive species.
